Things That Are Almost Too Good To Be True: Dior Silk Scarf

Every once in a while a girl gets lucky and this time the lucky one was yours truly. I popped into one thrift store when I was on my way home from hairdresser’s. I wanted to check out a sequinned shift dress I saw hanging on their window but I came out with something so much better. You see, I have a habit to trawl through all those accessories thrift stores have to offer and this time they had a true gem waiting for me: A Christian Dior Silk Scarf for 50 cents. My faith for persistent vintage hunting is restored. Bliss!

This is the butt-ugly you mentioned earlier? Some things even with a fine label ain’t cool.

    Dolce Vita: Thanks!

Passer: I totally agree with you. I wouldn’t ever wear something that didn’t wow me even if it’s designer item. However, this particular piece is wonderful when it’s for example wrapped around neck or worn as a head scarf. Those colours blend nicely together and it looks pretty hip. I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. Cheers!

Wow, I bet that scarf looks amazing around your neck. :) I can’t believe you found something like that and it only cost 50 cents. Lucky you! :D

Haha this is nice, I once found Dior scarf for 20 cents. Then I did some online research and someone with the excact same scarf had gone to the boutique asked if it was real and it was. Mine feels like silk & it’s beautiful too, the colours of French flag etc.

too bad I lost it somewhere to my room.

The colours on this one look great, like you said earlier it must look really good when tied around neck etc.

Oh, I really have to check out the Veeran Vanha Vintti. I didn’t even know it excisted!

Jenni: Thanks, dear! Timing seems to be everything.

Indie: Your scarf sounds fabulous! I’ve done some online research on how to recognise an authentic designer scarf and it seems my cramming finally paid off. Maybe I should write about this issue…

Ranna: I recommend that place without hesitation. They have a pretty nice selection there (remember to check out that grey wool hat they have in the fitting room! too bad grey looks dull on me) and it seems they’re getting donations from fairly wealthy folks. I know I’m spilling the beans here but what the heck. Long live the love for vintage!
