Accessorize!

A girl can’t do well without her accessories, can she!?. Here are my latest purchases: booties and a few bijous.

I guess I already told how I stumbled on these black suede booties from 1940’s (my guess) at a flea market near me. It’s clear someone loved the booties as much as I do because they’re extremely well kept although they’re so old. They’re just fabulous! They somehow remind me a bit of Minna Parikka’s designs.

This extremely cute silver fish pendant is actually from online auction. My guess is that it’s from 1960’s. I just bought some black leather band so that I can make this irresistible pendant as a necklace.

I think I’ll modify this wooden necklace to bracelet. These bigger beads with metal flowers are so sweet but the necklace itself is a bit awkward, length-wise that is.

These icy blue foil pearls go well with my many black vintage day dresses. I’m not a fan of lavender or other pale colours as I’m very pale myself but these pears somehow fascinated me.

    Thanks for commenting! :)

Jii: I remember you were the person who had the most style savvy granny. :)

I absolutely love the idea of passing something from mother to daughter or from granny to grandchild. I feel so bummed I wasn’t wiser at the age of 16 when my granny gave me a a bag of 50’s shoes. You see, she worked at a shoe factory when she was younger and she had kept all those gorgeous shoes she bought when she was in her twenties and thirties. Unfortunately, at that time I had another idea of what’s “cool” so I didn’t keep the shoes. Damn me!

Jabadaba: Do you think they’re from 40’s? My friend who has a better sense of style periods than me thought so.

You’re right, suede is really delicate material. I decided I keep the booties only when it’s dry and I also decided to let my shoemaker to take a good care of them. I guess I could use that spay on conditioner on them but I have to ask this from my shoemaker first. I don’t want to ruin these babes by taking it too easy. :)

    Those boots are absolutely gorgeus!
I never find shoes that cool from flea markets.

Well, what can I say. I was just lucky. Booties were only 5€ and based on the other stuff I saw there I guess it was some older lady’s table. Usually all shoes I see at flea markets or second hand shops seem to be either too small or way too big. These were just right: exactly my size and narrow enough. :)
